World Book Day 2022!

Last month, we celebrated World Book Day at ICA!

To mark the occasion, our students had the chance to get creative and dress up as their favourite characters. From Harry Potter to Mr Bean, students showcased some fantastic costumes and multiple prizes were handed out to our best dressed pupils.

Our staff also got involved and dressed up – they certainly put a smile on our students’ faces! Creative Arts and Technology won best dressed department for their rendition of The Wizard of Oz.

We began our day with a World Book Day Quiz in which students were quizzed on iconic children’s literature and authors such as C.S. Lewis, Roald Dahl, Lewis Carroll and many more. Throughout the day, there was a World Book Day Treasure Hunt, using their Knowledge Organisers (booklets that contain critical and fundamental knowledge in each subject area), students had to find answers to various questions which were placed around the school building.

Year 7 were also lucky enough to have a virtual talk with author Annelise Gray. Annelise read an extract from her new book series, Circus Maximus, and explained her thought process behind certain ideas whilst writing the books - a great opportunity for our students!

Everyone at ICA thoroughly enjoyed World Book Day, we can’t wait for next year!
